The Nike Materials Sustainability Index (Nike MSI) addresses the most significant environmental impacts of a wide range of processed materials, including textiles and component materials. Nike MSI outputs a numeric score on a 0 to 100 point scale, with a higher score representing better performance in the selected environmental impact areas—in other words, a relatively more sustainable material. All materials are scored using the same environmental impact areas and scale to enable relative comparisons.
